Science parties tick all the boxes for boys and girls parties with a bit of an edge. Every party has been designed and tweaked for many years to provide fantastic experience for everyone involved. We are the science party experts and our Presenters are trained to provide the maximum amount of fun while still keeping everything under control. Fun and science all in one party! The kids may even learn a thing or two 🙂

The Twisted scientists exceeded our expectations totally on all levels. They were great with the kids, friendly, polite and professional. They put on a fantastic show – and were completely unfazed by the forty degree day too – thank you for all your efforts scientists! So many highlights from the various experiments, but I think the rocket launch at the end was my favourite – wow! Most importantly the kids loved it!

Science Birthday Parties

We have been hosting hands-on science birthday parties for years and whenever we host one, our top priority is making sure every single participant has the best time possible. While we love teaching kids all about science and the world around them, our kids parties emphasise the fun factor above all else. With a great range of experiments and programs to choose from you can give your kids a treat with a slimy, messy, creative and super-duper fun science themed birthday party!

All Parties, Not Just Birthdays

Our kids science parties work equally well for other kids events too! Over the last decade we have modified our birthday parties to work fantastically well for events such as kindergarten visits, bar mitzvahs, christenings, family days, holiday programs and heaps more. If you see a birthday party theme or experiment you like, please ask us and we would be more than happy to mould our party to be brilliant for any event you had in mind.

We couldn’t have been happier with the service provided by your team. The online booking service was simple and responses were quick. On the day the guys were punctual, friendly and the kids had a wonderful time!! All the parents commented on how well they managed to captivate a group of nearly 20 six-year-olds! Thank you so much to Ben and Nick for providing such a terrific afternoon of fun at our son’s 6th birthday party on the weekend. All the kids had a ball from start to finish, and were kept engaged and entertained for the full hour, which is no mean feat with 20 six year olds! Twisted Science bring everything with them – tables, protective eyewear and lab coats for the kids (which look adorable!) and set it all up in advance. Having looked at quite a few other options, we really felt they provided excellent value for money, and were continuously impressed with their organisation and professionalism. Leading up to the party, Ben and the team were happy to answer a myriad of questions and they were very flexible with a great range of party options and even tailored some of the activities to suit our needs. It was such a memorable day for our son and he is hoping to have them back again in the future!

Exceeded expectations on all levels

The presenters Isaak and Edith were faultless. On time and self sufficient (I was busy organizing the other stuff that needed to be done) They had 31 5 and six year olds active and engaged for more than an hour. Considering the class Jacob is in (75% boys), this is by no means easy.
They were knowledgeable, friendly, fun, organised and patient.

I have already shared and recommended you to friends and family on Facebook who have seen the pictures and want details 🙂

Isaak and Edith were Great!

Thanks so much to the Scientwists – my son had an awesome party. All the kids thoroughly enjoyed the show and hands-on slime making session. The parents were all very impressed too – not just with the entertaining program but the fact the presenters (Camille and Peter) were able to keep the attention of 19 kids for 1 hour!

Peter and Camille were fantastic – friendly, fun, knowledgeable and they had the kids enthralled for the entire event. I was also impressed with their pre and post set-up and clean-up arrangements (very efficient!)

I was so impressed at how smoothly everything went and how much the kids enjoyed it, that I’ve happily recommended Scientwist parties to friends and colleagues.

Customer service was excellent throughout the booking process. My only observation is that your website was a little out-of-date on the info for the party packages – but you’ve already said this will be updated soon.

Awesome Party

Thank you so much to both yourself for all the information before the party, but also to your fabulous party scientists Peter and Isaac. They had a great rapport with the children, and were very patient! This kids had a great time, particularly the birthday boy.

Thank you for providing another great Science Show at Frankston Library on Saturday. We counted around 70 children who attended. The two presenters were fantastic and very engaging. And it is great to see young female Scientists at work – great role models. I am happy with your service, communications and booking process. And it is an affordable and popular event for our library members and community. We would definitely recommend you to other people as well as other libraries.

Well, what can I say from the time of the first call to inquire, to the bookings, to the presenters, to the science show to the kids participation- well is was all smooth sailing and fantastic. Isaac and Ellen were so easy to get along with and the kids loved them… Now I’m talking about 4 & 5 year old as they all sat there with excitement.

Easy Booking and Great Party!

Our kids had a terrific time at the ‘science party’ we booked for Harry (turning 8) on the weekend. All of the children had a ball – they were all completely involved and entertained by the experiments and their role in creating their own little rockets… it was even better than we had expected. All-in-all it was a fun and very professional experience and we would happily do it again should any of the kids put in a request! Very capable people (Ben and Kathleen) and well-organised… both had a good amount of patience in coordinating 17 young children in a confined space! Thanks for making his day special!

Phoenix’s 8th birthday was a huge success thanks to the scientwists and their fabulous experiments. All the children had such fun making their own lava lamps, which are still being played with weeks after the party. The science show was lots of fun with some memorable rocket launching which caused enormous excitement. Kathy and Kathleen kept the children engaged and under control the entire time. Below are the three most commonly booked kids parties: the Alpha Party, Beta Party and Science Show!

Alpha Party

Our flagship party is our Alpha Party

This is a 60 minute party which includes a Mini Science show followed by an Experiment of your choice with all of your guests clad in a Lab Coats and Safety Glasses.

The birthday child has an extra special role to play in the show and every child make something to take home.

The Alpha Party is perfect for the budding mini scientist. It is competitively priced at $395 for up to 20 children and $15/head for additional guests.

How does an Alpha Party work?

We start by getting the kids decked out in their lab coats and safety goggles before presenting a mini science show which includes a big happy birthday for the Birthday Child.

Now its Experiment time! The laboratory table will be stacked with pipettes, syringes, test tubes, stirrers, plates, cups and heaps more gear to “science” their take home creations to life. Every child has their own set and will fully partake in the experimenting action under the careful guidance of our Presenters.

The Scientwists are the party fun experts so every party will be a blast!

An Alpha Party Includes:

Two highly trained and amazingly fun Scientwist Presenters
60 mins of hair-raising demos and hands-on science
A take-home science creation
Two trestle tables (you may need to supply extra depending on numbers)
Microphone and small PA if needed
Safety glasses and lab-coats to wear on the day

Whacky Worms

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 6 y.o. – 12 y.o.

1. Starts with a 20 min show to get the kids warmed up, go over some rules and say happy birthday!
2. 35 mins of polymer worm making using pipettes syringes and test tubes. The worms are made by combining a sodium alginate solution (that we make ourselves) with a calcium chloride solution. Watch as the contents of the syringe set into the shape of worms as they hit the calcium chloride solution! Can you make worm eggs? Who can make the longest worms?
Can you make multi-coloured worms?
3. A 5 min water rocket launch to finish!

Radioactive/Glitter Slime

Whats Included

Recommended Ages 6 y.o. – 12 y.o.

1. Starts with a 20 min show to get the kids warmed up, go over some rules and say happy birthday!
2. 35 mins of the best slime making you’ve ever seen using pipettes syringes and test tubes. Slime comes in a variety of versions for you to choose. Make fantastic Radioactive Slime that glows under a UV light and is spookily cool or Glitter slime for those who like their slime with a bit of a bling!

Slime making is always a hit.
3. A 5 min water rocket launch to finish!

Dazzling DNA Extraction

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 7 y.o – 12 y.o

1. Begin with a short science show to give you a taste of science fun and make sure everyone is ready to start the Experimenting. We also need to say a big happy birthday to the birthday child!

2. Then its time to extract some real strawberry DNA with methylated spirits and extraction fluid. Kids take home their DNA in a test tube when finished.

3. We finish with a rocket launch with the Birthday Child doing the launching.

Bath Blitz

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 6 y.o – 12 y.o

1. Mix some Sodium bicarbonate with Citric acid to give that famous bath time fizz! Now to make it really fun, add water, essential oils and your choice of colours to make your bath bomb unique!

2. You’ll also make your own Bath Crystals. Great for a relaxing muscle soak after a big game or just for some chill out time.

3. Box up your bath products to take home.

Bubbleology

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 4 y.o.- 9 y.o.

1. A 10 min bubble show explaining why bubbles are round. We also go over some quick rules here and say a big happy birthday!
2. 20 mins of bubble making including bubbles in the air and bubbles on our bubble mats. Kids can make all sort of patterns and towers of bubbles. They can also experiment with rolling marbles through bubbles without popping them. They might even be able to make a square bubble!
3. 15 mins of making a bubbleator. This is the take-home bubble making machine that can make a huge tower of tiny bubbles.
4. 5 mins Finish with some giant bubble making using our awesome wandubbles and super bubble mix.

Lava Lamps

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 5 y.o.- 11 y.o.

1. A 20 min show including some quick rules and a big happy birthday to the birthday child!
2. 35 mins of Lava Lamp preparation and activation. Choose your groovy lamp colour, add the oil and the bubble activating tablet to get the chemical reaction under way. Watch as the gas draws the coloured liquid to the top of the tube and drops it back again to start the whole process over again. A mini version of the lamps you’ll find in the shops!
3. Finish with 5 minutes of water rocket blst off action!

Slime and Bubble Double

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 7 y.o. – 12 y.o.

1. Starts with a 10min bubble show to get the kids warmed up, go over some rules and say happy birthday!
2. Swing into action with some cool bubble experiments and make a froth and bubble bubbleator!

3. After a quick reset, make your own oozy gooey Slime. It’s rad!

4. This Party gives you 2 great experiments to enjoy.

Rockets and Space

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 5 y.o – 12 y.o

Make a small take home rocket and rocket launch pad out of a some straws, balloons, foam, and fins. After a practice with your rockets, have a play around with a bigger launcher to really make them fly far.
We then play with centrifugal force and see if the kids can spin things like cups of water over their heads with out letting any fall out. Centrifugal force is explained and we talk about how a spinning spaceship can create fake gravity.
We finish up with our famous water rocket.

Beta Party

The Beta Party is our one presenter party.

Just like the Alpha it also include labcoats and glasses for the kids, a birthday gift for the birthday child, a mini-science show to start, a water rocket to end and heaps of fun!

The Beta has been designed for one Scientwist presenter rather than the Alpha’s two. Still packed full of hands-on science it is great if you are having a party with us for the first time. Beta parties are $305 with a maximum of 15 kids.

How does the Beta Party work?

We start by getting the kids decked out in their lab coats and safety goggles before presenting a mini science show which includes a big happy birthday for the Birthday Child.

Then its time for the hands on experimenting part where you get to choose what you want.

The Party finishes with a real blast as we launch a water rocket into the beyond!

Recommended ages 5 – 12

Maximum of 15 participants.

A Beta Party includes:

A Scientwist Presenter to lead and host your Party
A science creation to take home
Lab-coats and glasses to wear on the day
60 minutes of hands on action

Lava Lamps

What's Included?

3. 5 mins of playing with our take-home lava lamps!

Bubbleology

What's Included?

Recommended Ages 4 y.o.- 9 y.o.

Slime

What's Included?

Recommended ages 5 y.o. – 11 y.o.

1. Starts with a 20 min show
2. 30 min Slime making action including use of pipettes, syringes and test tubes – each child will use their own set. The slime is made from a PVA and water mix we cook ourselves and store bought Borax and is great at bouncing and stretching!
3. 5 mins of play with your take-home, glittery, glowey slime!
4. A water Rocket Launch to finish 🙂

Science Show

Science Shows

Great for larger numbers, our interactive science shows can handle crowds of 200 plus!

If you have a larger group to entertain, the Fizzle and Pop Science Show is a fantastic option! This awesome presentation includes two highly experienced science communicators sharing the bang, slurp, fizzle and pop of the world of science!

The Show is definitely interactive and will keep any audience fully engaged for the entire hour.
